Why businesses need to invest in UX

We talk about the benefits of UX design for business and how to calculate how much money you can save or earn on it.

We are increasingly invited to tenders, and among the cases there are already projects for a green bank and other well-known brands. Everything is as it should be.

Along the way, we've learned exactly why companies invest in user experience. And we are ready to share insights.

What does ROI mean in the context of UX design?

Recall that ROI (Return on Investment) is an indicator of return on investment. It is needed to understand how much the company's investments in one direction or another, for example, advertising, production, construction or design, pay off. ROI helps you decide what to develop and what to abandon.

Depending on the goal that UX design solves, profitability is calculated in different ways. It is important to define exactly the business goal and correlate it with UX metrics.

Images on site pages

Similar to banner ads, image superiority applies to the design of other elements on the site. In the example below, on the website of Russian Standard Bank, the link to the mobile application is indicated in the form of text. Such text is subtle and gets lost next to other text elements on the page. Meanwhile, the mobile application is a very important tool for the bank, which increases the convenience of customers working with the bank. There are cases when people changed banks due to the absence or inconvenience of a banking application.

Now compare this to how the link to the mobile app is listed on another bank's website. Here, in addition to the text, there is a large and beautiful image of a smartphone with a mobile banking interface, by which you can immediately understand that we are talking about a mobile application of the bank, even with a cursory glance. And the text also shows the benefits and a QR code for quick and easy downloads.
